Teeny tiny update!

I am sick. I've been having fevers on and off, I'm coughing my lungs out, I have a headache and sore throat... You name it, I've got it. And it just refuses to go away. Pretty annoying, to be honest.

But it got a little better yesterday so I took the time to do something I've wanted to do for quite some time. I made new corsages with some of the fresh water pearls I bought at Tokyo Expo!

Aaaand here they are!

Late Christmas Present

One of my Xmas presents this year was to be able to order a Lucky Pack from Innocent World and it arrived today!

It's really dark today though so all the pictures are kind of bad quality. But I really like the things I got.

An offwhite Lacy One Piece.

A simple brown jumperskirt and an offwhite blouse.

A flower printed jumperskirt.

With a matching hairbow.

And last, but not least, a pair of offwhite overknee socks with flowers and bows.

Oh and here's an outfit I put together with some of the items I got plus my new favorite cardigan that I got myself on the After-Christmas-Sale at Gina Tricot. I loved the cardigan so much I actually got it in three colors. One beige, one caramel brown and one dark chocolate brown.

Preparations for the Christmas Ball

So yes, tomorrow night is my brother's Christmas Ball. Originally I had intended to sew a brand new ballgown in dark blue velvet with faux fur trim and so on... but time, as well as a lot of other things, has been against me. So I just haven't had the opportunity to sew anything myself.

BUT. My mother is wonderful and totally saved me by saying she'd let me rent a gown from Karl Gerhards ateljé.

And this is the dress I chose :3 better pics will come after the ball, I think, but this is all you get for now. Silverygrey/Dark red. I loooove it! I especially love the buttons.

There were two other dresses that fit me better size wise (It's a pain being tiny >.>..) but this was just so much prettier.

Right, so day two in Paris!

It is nice, as always. But I am exhaaaausted >.< I slept most of the day yesterday because I hadn't gotten a wink of sleep the night before. Then I slept all night last night and had a nap today. And still I am tired. Well fuuu on you too, body!

Either way... I have pictures to upload... but no good image editing programme on this computer so I can't shrink the pictures. Which means it'll take hooours for me to upload all of them. So yeah, you all have to wait until I get home instead. *nods*

I do, however, have ONE picture I just haaave to show you~

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you.... I'm in Paris! And I'll be here until Wednesday. So yay for that!

Lately thigns haven't been... so good for me. But! I'm staying positive. At least I am now. This city has that effect on me. Also getting pretty art and having the best guild in the world helps. A lot.

Anyway I need to go soon. But I'll update with more from Paris later~

I realized a couple of days ago that I don't actually remember the last time I went outside the house. Which is bad. It is possible that the last time was on 31st of October... Which is worse. I don't even know what I have been doing for the last couple of weeks.

Oh wait, yes I do. Roleplaying with my Guild in WoW and playing Skyrim. *Nods* It's good stuff.

Still... I probably should have gone out at some point. But I just never felt like it. And now after yesterday and urgh I definitely don't feel like it. So I shall just hide inside with my games for a bit longer.

Sometime I really, truly amaze myself with how badly I can manage to screw things up.

I woke up at around 11.15 today. I had been having a nightmare and it was my father's voice that finally woke me. He was wondering if I shouldn't get up already if I was going to the 5th anniversary of the Swedish Lolita Forum, Gothloli.se. A celebration that started with a museum visit at noon. I almost panicked right there and then but I managed to convince myself to calm down and that I could get ready and still make it for the Afternoon Tea at 3pm. I had over three hours so really it shouldn't be a problem. I could take my time, calm down and get presentable.

Then at around 12.00 I got a text message from my hat making instructor saying that they missed me at the fascinator course. That started at 10 this morning...

I had completely forgotten about it.

Cue panic, anxiety - you name it. The anniversary celebration, although fun, only cost me about 100 SEK so it wasn't that horrible a thing to miss. The hat course on the other hand... my father payed a lot of money for it and I have now completely screwed it up. It's only two days and missing one would mean that... There's barely any point in going at all tomorrow. Though I probably will anyway. For my father's sake. But loosing out on half the course, probably including ALL of the basic knowledge... Fuck. How is it that I always manage to pull stunts like this?

I haven't felt so incredibly useless in a long time.

Comfort Shopping

Right, sorry for being so absent lately. Things happen, stress occurs and uh yeah... after that exhaustion set in and kept me from doing just about everything. Also, Skyrim appeared in my mailbox so I suppose that might explain parts of it.

Anyway, things were starting to look up and I was planning on writing a looong post about all the good stuff that has happened lately and upload pictures and stuff from Kultcon. Unfortunately, just when I was thinking of doing that (yesterday) things took a turn for the worst again. And by that I mean Worst with a capital W. Old stuff that I thought had been long since buried just resurfaced all of a sudden and yeah... it wasn't nice. So not nice, in fact, that I am seriously contemplating comfort shopping....

The only problem is that I don't have all my money in my bank account so I can't actually place the order until I make a trip down to the bank. ._.

Also I can't decide what color I want......

Oh and when I have time I might write something nerdy about Skyrim and roleplaying in WoW... but not now.

Right so today it was time for the photoshoot that Josefine and I had been planning. It involved a lot of pretty fall leaves and a brand new hat! But I'm not telling you any more than that~ The rest will be a surprise!

So I got up at hmm... 8-ish is morning and had my tea, got dressed and so on. Then I took the bus to lovely Katrin's apartment where she did my hair and makeup. She is awesome, by the by, so you should all check out her blog!

My hair is standing straight up in that picture, even though it's hard to see. :3

Today just appears to be a generally bad day. Not that that is particularly surprising... I haven't had a lot of good days lately. But still, today had great potential to be wonderful. I have this awesome new haircut, I picked out a lovely outfit and I got to spend the day with Emma celebrating her birthday. However, despite all of those things I find myself just wanting to crawl back into bed and not come out until christmas. Or something.

Last night I stayed up rather late talking to one of my brother's friends who is currently staying with us. She's such a sweet girl but, even though I like talking to her, a lot of unpleasant topics came up and the whole conversation left me feeling... not so good. Then when I finally did go to bed I couldn't sleep and spent most of the night staring up at the ceiling.

So, needless to say I was extremely tired when I woke up. As well as feeling more than a little bit down because the conversation from yesterday still lingered in my mind. And it still does. But I still got myself out of bed, made tea and started getting ready to go out. From the moment I had gotten my haircut yesterday I had been longing to try to curl my hair and so I did that this morning. It was SO pretty. All fluffy and bouncy, just like I imagined it would be. Sadly, after only about thirty minutes outside my curls were drooping and looked about as depressed as I felt. Ugh.

Still, I went out and I met up with Emma. She looked lovely as always. Then we walked around in town searching for a café that wasn't packed with people... I think we must have been walking around for over an hour when we finally decided to give up. However, when we walked towards the subway we happened past a café that did, in fact, have empty seats! Tired as we both were, we decided to at least have some cake before going home. So we went inside, elbowed our way through a throng of people and snatched an empty table. Now, the café was rather nice, although crowded, and they had nice pastries but no matter how much I tried to enjoy myself I struggled. A lot. My eyelids drooped, I yawned a lot and my hairband was giving me an epic migraine. Thankfully, Emma seemed to understand, but it still felt so bad to sit there and feel horrible when we were supposed to be celebrating her birthday.

In the end we just ate our cake, sat there and halfheartedly tried to keep a conversation going. Then the cake ran out and there was really no reason to remain there anymore. So we went our separate ways and I went straight home.

Now I am sitting here by my computer with a killer headache, sipping lukewarm tea and feeling generally miserable. Later tonight I will have to go out to a restaurant with my parents and have a late birthday dinner for my mother. Normally I would love going out to dinner, but right now I am so tired I just want to stay home. Even the glorious food isn't enough to make me want to go out. I still have no appetite.

Right... enough ranting for today.

Happy Birthday, Emma. I'll treat you to dinner sometime when I have my appetite back to make up for all of this.

A Haircut and a new Coat

So~ Earlier this week I got my order from Innocent World containing my new brown/creme coat and dark red socks! So when I went out with my Friend Emma I just has to put together an outfit with both things.

Both the coat and the socks are absolutely to die for. I love them to death.

Oh and I had been planning for a while to get my hair cut and today I finally had my appointment. Gone is the long, long hair that reached down to my hips~ I was both excited and nervous about the whole ordeal but in the end I was very pleased with the results.

Tea at Sturekatten

So yesterday I met up with my dear, dear friend Hillevi and we went to Sturekatten, a very sweet café near Stureplan in Stockholm. It's a bit hidden away but the interior is absolutely to die for. My father's grandmother and aunt used to come to this place during their visits in Stockholm when he was young and he aptly described it as the place where "Ladies in Hats" (Damer i Hatt) used to go for tea and coffee.

Gloom and doom aside (It's easier to laugh at your own misery, trust me.), this next month will be filled with work and hats and work and more hats.

Yesterday I got the sweetest invitation to come sell my things at KultCon in Jönköping at the end of the month. Totally made my day, it did. So, after some discussion it was decided that on the 27th of October my mother and I will travel down to Jönköping and then spend the whole weekend there. I will be at the convention Friday to Sunday and hopefully I will get a lot of things sold! But before then I need to work to make a lot more hats and accessories. *nods* Just have to find the inspiration now...

Also, on an equally hatty note, on the 24th I'll be going back to the studio where I took my hat-making course and I will join the workshop there. Any chance to keep working with different materials is a big plus to me! And that studio is really one of the nicest places I have ever worked in~

I will also try to finish all the orders I have at the moment. It might take a bit longer than usual, but I'll get to it, I promise!

Then, once all of this hatty madness is done with (Well, not completely done - it never is - but you get my point~) I will be looking forward to a wonderful long weekend in Paris at the beginning of November! If anything, a trip to that city will definitely make me feel better. I am so looking forward to it! :3

Last but not least...
I ordered a brand new winter coat from Innocent World last week, along with a pair of socks, and I can't wait for them to arrive! Of course, the coat was on reservation so I'll have to wait until the end of October for it to be released but I don't care~ It's to die for, it's so pretty!

Rant, rant, rant~ Don't like it? Don't read it.

Right, that's it. I have had it.
I'm just not going to bother anymore, because what's the point? All those months of hard work only to have it all crash and burn. Again. Everyone is expecting me to just get up and get on with my life and then they blame me for not doing a well enough job at it. Well, fuck, I'm afraid I didn't get the memo that said I have to feel bloody GUILTY over having a hard time. Because, obviously, you are all suffering more from this than I am.

This is why I don't talk to people. There are only a few select people I can turn to, knowing that they won't get upset with me for letting them know what's bothering me and even with those people I find myself hesitating. I do not wish to push people away. I know it's hard to deal with someone who has been down for a long time, so I don't want to put people through it. Instead, I keep things to myself. At the cost of my own sanity, some would say. But sooner or later something's got to give, right? Hence tonight's rant.

I lasted four days. Four days, which is pretty good all things considered. During our conversation the pain was still so new and I did not quite know how to handle it, but after that I refused to think about it, focusing on other things instead. So yes, I lasted four days until last night, or was it this morning, when I broke down and cried my eyes out. Rather pathetic since I had promised myself not to cry over him again.

And, of course, it just had to be on the day my brother was coming home again. So not only do I get to deal with... all of this Shit, but I also have to get constantly reminded about how big a burden I am to my parents, etc, etc.

Right, straying from the point again...

I have always held onto a part of me that is, most definitely, very much a romantic. I have been tempted to throw that part out of the window several times in my life but I always ended up changing my mind. I knew that romance is something you have to work for. It's not like in the stories, it requires a lot, a lot of work. I knew that, and I accepted that. But no matter how hard you work, it never really makes up for the pain you feel when it all falls to pieces. Honestly, it doesn't. That kind of heartbreaking pain can, and will, render me completely useless for months, if not more. I just can't take that anymore.

I have quite enough bouts of uselessness as it is, thank you, what with random panic and anxiety attacks and all that jazz. I'm not really in a state of mind where I can really deal with... well, heartbreak, I guess.

Friendships and so on I can deal with. No problem. I can be a really good friend when I want to be. (I think.) So yes, friendships are fine and family... well, can't really get rid of them, can I? Besides, they have their good sides too, I suppose.

Relationships, on the other hand... That's where I draw the line. Just... no more. I am sick and tired of putting myself out there, making myself vulnerable and get absolutely nothing for it.

So, yes. I give up. Relationships can go screw themselves for all I care.

Contrary to popular beliefs, I am not writing this to gain pity votes. In fact, I would rather appreciate if no one left any comments on this particular post. I don't even care if anyone reads this. It is entirely for my own benefit. I do not speak of my emotions very often and when I do make an effort to my words often tend to get stuck in my throat, refusing to come out. So sometimes I just need a place to vent. This is it. I have used this blog as an outlet before when times have been particularly rough and I am likely to do it again. If anyone does not wish to read all of this then you don't have to. You can come back again when I have returned to posting frivolous nonesense about clothes or tea or dolls or whatnot.

Also... Some people might find it shocking to find... oh my, cursing! on a Lolita's blog... But I really don't give a shit.

I offered to open my bag so he could see, but then I got a reply along the lines of "No, no! Not the Lolita's bag! You can go~"

Back to the hotel we went and Varga had gotten a hold of some Green Tea drink... with pant from sweden... O.o

On our way back to the Subway from the Catacombes we stopped by in a very small shop that had really gorgeous silver rings. This one was bought by My. I also bought one but it will come in a picture at some later time.

Umeå~

Most of you are probably waiting to see the rest of the pictures from Paris but they will be delayed unfortunately. I'm in Umeå now, as you might have guessed, and I'm taking it easy, relaxing and doing some minor projects while I'm here. I simply haven't had the energy to deal with the many hundreds of photos that were taken during my trip with the girls. Still, they will come in time. You just have to have a little patience.

Unfortunately, the poor boy has managed to get sick. So he is lying in our bed right now with a fever. And tomorrow we're going to see the doctor. I hope he gets better soon. I hate seeing him this miserable.

I was thinking of bringing both dolls up here with me, but after packing all of Kaoru's clothes I realized I only had room for one of them. So Yuki got to stay home this time. He needs a bit of a makeover anyway. I think I'm going to order him a new wig when I get home again.

My, I'm really getting worse and worse at this whole updating-thing. The last couple of weeks I have had quite a lot of things to write about but never the energy to actually post anything here. I blame Tomas, he's keeping me busy all the time. :3 (Not that I actually mind.... but that's besides the point!)

Anyway, tomorrow is a pretty big day so I thought I should at least let you know that I probably won't post anything new for another week. Why? Because I'm going to Paris, that's why! Tea, Varga and My will be coming over to my place sometime today and then we all sleep here so we can easily go to Arlanda Airport tomorrow morning. I'm really looking forward to this trip~ Traveling with good friends is really wonderful and there are quite a few things we want to do and see. We also have tickets to Japan Expo for all four days so we will probably make an appearance there at some point.

If anyone else happens to be in Paris the next week, or just at Japan expo, let me know~ I'd love to be able to say Hello at the very least! :D We will be there for a whole week, going back next Monday in the evening. I promise to have a whole lot of photos to put here when I come home again.

Now I need to get back to packing~

Uppcon 11

Alright, so I'm a bit late but here are all the pictures from Uppcon~ Finally.

Honestly I forgot to bring out my camera most of the time so only about a handful of these pictures are actually mine. I was simply too distracted by hats and concerts and fashionshows and things to make a real effort to document the weekend myself.

Anyway~ Uppcon 11 was pretty fun, I must admit. Like all conventions it's a lot more fun when you have friends with you and I had Tomas as well a number of other people I know come and keep me company at my table in the Artist's Alley. There were also times when I was bored out of my mind since they kept closing off the sixth floor (the one that the Artist's Alley was on) and there was practically no one coming by my table, but I still had the other Artists to talk to so I survived.

There were some major gaps in Uppcon's planning of the Artist's Alley's location among other things but all in all it went pretty well for me. I sold hats and accessories for about 2500kr (250 Euros) and I also sold some clothing down at the Visitor's Sales table that brought in another 900kr.

Other than sitting at my table and trying to sell things I went to two concerts, Versailles and Olivia. Both were really great and it was so nice to get to see them live. Versailles, of course, I have seen once before, but Olivia was the first time.

Like I've mentioned in an earlier post I also got to walk in the Fashionshow. It took place on Sunday morning and I was stressed out like you wouldn't believe trying to get ready and go from Stockholm to Uppsala in order to get there in time for the rehearsal but in the end it went really well. It was a lot of fun, despite all the nervousness and stress and all the models looked fabulous! However, if I am to walk in a similar fashionshow at another Uppcon I really hope that they put it on another time. 10am on a Sunday isn't really the ideal. Most of the guests at the convention weren't even awake at that time!

Alright, enough of my babbling~ Here comes the pictures!

These guys were nice enough to keep me company a lot during Sunday after the Fashionshow. After a lot of complaints the Artists from the Artist's Alley were finally allowed to move their tables to a more accessible floor of the convention. A lot more people came by my table down on the third floor but I must say I liked the view better from the sixth floor.

I got to babysit my friend's doll for a while. This is Solque, a character from our epic fantasy Roleplay~ He's an elven High Priest and!

Kaoru also got to stand at my table and on Sunday she even got to borrow one of my hats!

Prepping for Uppcon 11

There's only one week left until Uppcon now. I'm a bit excited but mostly just stressed. There are so many things I want done before then. Several hats, hairclips and corsages need finishing and then I need to figure out a way to bring everything to Uppsala. Not to mention I still don't have anywhere to stay once I am there. Worst case scenario would be that I'd have to travel back and forth between Uppsala and Stockholm every day. It doesn't take more than an hour, mind, but it's still rather annoying.

On top of all that I feel really sick today so I haven't been able to get anything done. Bah. And it seems my new businesscards won't get here until the week after Uppcon. I don't want to seem whiny but this is just one of those days where everything seems to go all wrong. Ngh....

One fairly amusing thing though is that I have apparently been accepted as a model in Uppcon's fashionshow.

I applied months ago with an outfit I really liked but then got the reply that they "had so many Sweet Lolitas already" and that I needed to send more pictures of my hair and makeup etc. That just seemed like too much of a hassle, especially since they automatically seemed to put me in the same category as all the Sweet Lolitas even though my outfit was no where near Sweet. So I decided to just give up. I could look fabulous at the convention without actually walking in the fashionshow. However, just the other day I got an email saying that I had been chosen as a model. Wait what? .... *shrug* Apparently my outfit isn't as generic as they first thought. Or something. Oh well. Turns out I'll be walking in that fashionshow after all!

This is the outfit I'll be wearing. I thought I'd go all out Classic with a bit of a Mad Hatter twist and do some advertising for my hats while I'm at it.

Oh and I'm supposed to wear white lace socks instead of the brown ones :3

The last few days I have done so many things I can barely keep track of it all. It started on Thursday and then it just went on and on XD But it was fun. I spent a lot of time with Tomas, met some of his friends, saw one of them play live at an English Pub at Fridhemsplan. I also brought him along to meet some of my friends and to see Tea walk a runway at a club last night and and.... Guh. Today I met up with Helena, whom I hadn't seen in some time, and we went for a walk together with the two dogs she's been doggie-sitting. The last couple of days have been great! I've felt wonderful and I have gotten a lot of work done! Last Saturday was particularly wonderful even though I was so worried that day. The day was spent doing all sorts of things like laying on the grass for hours just talking, eating good food and drinking coffee/tea, watching a movie (Rio - the new animated movie about a blue parrot that can't fly~) and then playing a bunch of fun games at the Arcade. I'd tell you more but... a lady does not kiss and tell :P

To say the least, Saturday was a good day.

Then on Sunday I went to my friend's birthday teaparty and had a lovely time there. Met a bunch of friends and some new people as well~

The rest of the days have also been wonderful, but perhaps not to the same degree as the weekend. Still, I have worked hard and felt unusually happy the entire time. I even made the time to update my hatblog with some new things! More stuff will come when I have figured out names for them but feel free to take a look at the things already up there:

Today I had an appointment with my doctor, got some new sleeping pills and then ran a few errands. I got to pick up both my new glasses today and my new ID card. The weather was lovely, though it was almost unbelievably hot. A cordoroy dress might not have been the best choice, to be honest...

The Lolita Flea Market 2011

I thought I'd give you a bit more of an update from the Flea Market last Sunday. I had been stressing like crazy the week before, as you all know, but all in all the flea market itself went pretty well for me. I sold two hats, the Peacock Pirate Tricorne and a new Black mini tophat I had finished the night before. I also sold several ribbon hairclips, one corsage and one barrette. Truth to be told I can't even keep track of all the things I got sold. ^^; Also, being the silly air-headed hatter that I am, I didn't even take pictures of all my things to document them before they got sold. So uh... I'll have to hunt down the people who bought them and see if they can't provide me with a photo or two. I really rather like having at least one picture of each of the things I made for Imperial Fiddlesticks Emporium.

Aanyway... Besides the IF stuff I sold, I also sold my Moi-même-Moitié Chandelier dress, my Opera Milles Feuille OP from Alice and the Pirates, a headbow, a pair of socks... I can't remember if that's all of it... Either way, I more than made up for the two dresses I had bought while we were preparing for the Flea Market the day before.

I have been hunting the last week to see if I could find any pictures of myself, or my table, from the Flea Market but in the end I only found these two. What was I doing? Avoiding all cameras or something?

Here I am headless but with my fluffy slippers. I wore my high brown Steampunk boots earlier but I sure as hell wasn't about to stand around in high heels all day. Fluffy slippers are the best~

The last week or so I have been busy busy so I haven't been able to post much here. :3 I had to finish a bunch of hats and accessories for yesterday's Lolita Flea market and I was so very stressed out. But even though I had very little time to get a lot of work done, I did allow myself to go out with some friends and enjoy myself on a few occasions. 'Twas probably just as well, otherwise I might have gone mad! XD

Last Wednesday for example I went into town and met Kersti for a little shopping and a sort-of photoshoot. It was very relaxed and fun and it was so nice to see her again! I opted to wear my favorite "Mad Hatter" outfit since I had yet to get any good pictures of it.

Then last Saturday there was an event in a park in Stockholm called Körsbärsblommans Dag. It is a big event that happens every year when the cherry blossoms are blooming. There was a lot of fun and games, shops, food, performances, a Kimono "fashion show", a cosplay show and more. I have been going to this event every year for the last four years so I didn't want to miss it no matter how busy I've been.

I met up with Tess and Amanda, and one of their friends whom I can't remember the name of (Sorry!).

We walked around there for a while, ate icecream and was photographed by a million different people but then I saw something that made me completely sick to my stomach so we decided to leave early. We were only there for about an hour. A shame, really, but what do you do when you're literally shaking and have a hard time standing up?

After leaving Kungsträdgården we went to Viola Lahger where I was finally able to relax somewhat. We chatted with Tea and the new girl (Still can't remember her name!) bought her very first corset! Go you! Then Varga came along after a while with a very cuddly man at her heel. We approve! He even tried on a corset!

Anyway... God, I'm totally rambling, aren't I? -.-.... But after being in the store for a while I gathered up all my hats and ran home for a quick bite to eat before rushing off to Tokyo Stop to prepare for the Flea market. I had promised myself not to buy anything, and save all the money I got from selling my own things for our trip to Paris, but after feeling so iffy for most of the day I decided I was allowed to spoil myself. Especially since one of the other sellers, Vanessa, had two dresses that were absolutely to die for!

That's how I usually make myself feel better by the way - I shop!

Here are the dresses I bought:

A pink-ish dreamy thing in chiffon with a rose pattern from Innocent World. It will be replacing my other pink dress once I get it sold.

And a brown/beige cordoroy dress from Mary Magdalene. I have wanted this dress for... god knows how long and now I finally have it!

I spent the rest of the Saturday, well into the night, finishing off even more hats and corsages to sell.

The Fleemarket on Sunday went well for me, I got quite a few things sold so now I have money! yay! More information about that will come when I have managed to scavenge some pictures~ I didn't bring my own camera, sadly.

Now I'm going to sit back with my tea and try to relax, no matter how hard that might be. Emotional turmoil for the win, eh? Bah, enough of that.

The weather has been so nice this last week that I have been going out every day even if I didn't really have any reason to. It's nice and warm and all the flowers are beginning to bloom~

Today I went to meet someone I hadn't seen in years.

A while ago Christofer, my childhood friend/sweetheart (I suppose), found me on Facebook (I suppose the god forsaken site can be good for something at least) and we got to talking. We hadn't seen eachother since... the prom in 9th grade? I think. Either way we decided to meet and catch up after all these years. So today we went to a nice café called Sturekatten and talked away an hour or two. It was really quite nice.

Shoe shopping!

I went into town with Ting today. We had a very nommy lunch at Pizza Hut and then went looking for shoes for him. In the end I found shoes for myself as well so it was certainly a win-win situation! XD

After the shopping was done (Aside from the shoes Ting bought a t-shirt and some socks and I bought lacy fingerless gloves.) we went to Old Town and sat down at a café for a while.

This is the first picture I have of myself in this dress even though I bought it last fall, in late September I think. As you might remember I was thinking of selling it for a while since I never used it. In the months I've had it I have only used it four times, I think. The rest of the time it has been neatly folded in a box at the top of my wardrobe, hidden away from the world. Definitely not worth it considering how much I paid for it. However, in the end I chickened out of selling it. It holds immense sentimental value and I just couldn't bear to part with it.

Now, though, I am once again thinking of selling it. Bringing it to the Lolita Flee Market on May 1st would be an easy thing and then perhaps I could get at least some of the money back. (God knows I need the cash!) But... I still can't seem to make up my mind. It's a gorgeous dress but if I can't bear to wear it, what's the point of keeping it? Not to mention if I keep it is most likely because I still cling to the hope that things will return to the way they were... Something that is very unlikely to happen. Just thinking that it might seems very silly and romantic, and utterly cliché. I'm probably a fool for even considering it - a very naive fool.

So perhaps it would be best if I just sold it. Heh... Yeah, I probably will at that. What is the point of keeping it?

The dress is going back on the hanger until the Lolita Fleemarket and then I'll see if anyone there will be interested in it.

Uh... sorry about that. Like the rant I wrote a few days ago, this is something that has been on my mind for a long time now and I just needed to get it out. I hope you understand.

Spring walk~

I went out for a walk with my friend Emma today. We were supposed to go to Vintage Mässan, a convention/fair/thing (Sort of) for all things... Vintage, I suppose. But in the end we were both too lazy and just ended up going to Gamla Stan for a delicious lunch in the form of Sten Sture's Panpizza, followed by a very, very long walk through town and out to Djurgården. 'Twas really nice and the weather, although slightly windy, was sunny and warm.

Now... my outfit looks a lot more extravagant than it really was :3 I tried on about a hundred different outfits this morning before settling for dragging out the Victorian-esque monster skirt. It also gave me a chance to use my new hat! I took all the decorations from the other hat that matched this skirt and created a new base for them. I like this one much better!

Pretentious crap incoming... read at your own risk.

Have you ever had a memory so great that it makes you smile whenever you think of it? It could be of a certain time, a certain place or a certain person but no matter what it always manages to make you happy. I think we rather need memories like that. Especially when times are bad we should all have a moment of such pure unadulterated happiness that we can think back to. It makes all the problems go away for a while... and that small moment of peace is priceless.

I do my best to collect good memories as I go along. I am especially good at keeping some sort of proof of each occassion, such as a photo or something like that. Something I can see, touch and really remember that day. Memories like that really do help when I’m feeling down. Even on the gloomiest of days I can pull out a photograph, a dress, some jewelry, perhaps even a flower and I can remind myself that there still is a silver lining to life. There always is. And having physical proof only makes the feeling all the greater.

Strangely enough though... the most powerful and happy memory I have is just that, a memory. I don’t have anything to remind me of it. No photos, nothing. But no matter what it still remains in my mind, almost constantly. It wasn’t even a big deal... Just one night, out of many, that was spent in good company. There was barely any talking and we were both focused on our tasks. But I don’t think I have ever felt so much at peace before. It was a sort of comfortable silence, broken only by the music playing from the computer, but it makes my heart swell whenever I think of it. Silly, isn’t it? That I should remember that so fondly. I don’t know why, but that night I was really happy.

Now, if I only could let it remain a happy memory, it would be fine. But who can blame me for wanting more? I want more nights like that, I want to feel that happy and at peace again. So no matter what I keep chasing after it. I can’t help myself it seems. Sometimes, no matter how much you try to prevent it, memories fade. Or become embellished, exaggerated. Maybe that night wasn’t as great as I remember it? Maybe I’m just making myself believe it so that I have something worth fighting for? God, I don’t know.

Perhaps it would be best if I let the memory be. Then I could remember that night and smile, and that would be it. It would remain this fantastical night that seems almost too good to be true. It would be unspoiled.

On the other hand, if I continue to chase after it, who’s to say I will ever find it again? Even if I do, maybe it’s not the same as I remember. Then it will all be ruined. Even that first precious memory. It was probably just a figment of my imagination anyway, right?

I’m not sure where I am going with this. Sometimes I just need to get all my thoughts down on paper, whether they make sense or not. This particular question has been bothering me for some time now.

It’s a bit of a gamble, isn’t it? If I chase after that feeling, that moment of pure happiness, I might end up losing more than I bargained for, including the best memory I have.

It would probably be better just to take the memory for what it is. Remember that time and smile on occassion, but otherwise move on with my life and leave that night in the past where it belongs.

Ugh... I apologize for all of this. I’m still not quite well and when I’m sick I tend to think more than is healthy.

Yesterday was the Masquerade Teaparty at Viola Lahger!

I had just finished Varga's hat the day before so I brought it with me.

Anyway, we went to Viola Lagher at about 1pm and dropped off all of the teacups and cake and things. Then we went to get some much needed Thai food.

Paris, Paris!

As most of you probably know I was planning on going to Paris again this summer. For shopping, Japan Expo and all that. However, what you didn't know is that I'm going with three of my best tea-drinking friends! Tea, Varga and My are joining me at Arlanda Airport on June 28 and then it's off to Paris! Everything is booked and ready now so all we have to do is wait... Hm... waiting... I hate waiting... -.-

At any rate! We shall be in Paris for a whole week, going home on July 4th. In that time we hope to be able to do all the things we wanted... but knowing us, and knowing Paris, I'll be happy if we manage half of those things. Still, what we can't get done this time can always be done on another occasion if we ever chose to go back. And knowing myself... we will :P

It will be so much fun to travel with Teaparty people! I am really looking forward to it. We are so very different in many ways but we still get along wonderfully. Perhaps it is all those "group therapy" sessions we have on the floor in Viola Lahger... I don't know. But I love these girls and I definitely will love seeing Paris again with them!

Right, so today was the first Lolita Loppis, in Uppsala. It was rather small, but it was nice and I managed to get some things sold! Go me! There were three sellers there, me being one of them and a surprising amount of people showed up to shop or just look at the exhibition by Ulrika Minami Wärmling.

Japan 'Loppis' and Shopping

Right, so today it was once again time for the Japan-themed Fleemarket, or "Loppis" in Swedish. A bunch of different people gathered in Kulturhuset in the middle of Stockholm and were selling all kinds of clothing, manga, toys and so on. Last time I was present selling my hats but this time I was just there to browse. I met some friends but I didn't find anything worth buying.

I decided that I'd wear my new bonnet for the first time today...

After leaving the Loppis I went to my Optician and got an appointment to have my eyesight checked next week and then to two different fabric stores to look for materials for my hats. It turns out that Ohlssons Tyger has a sale this weekend which made me a very happy girl.

I bought two kinds of the same fabric. Black/Green and Brown/Blue/Silver. I just loved the pattern and I think these will make excellent hats!

I also bought some ribbons and trim, and a few buttons. But I won't tell you what I'm going to use them for just yet. You'll have to wait and see!

I should have knows this would happen. I should have known... Actually I think I did know, but I ignored it. I didn't want to think that there would be a chance this could happen again. But of course... it did. I'm not really surprised that it happened either. I'm just surprised that it still hit me this hard. Even after all this time. What a great fucking end to a lovely week.

Yes, so... I picked up Daniel from the trainstation on tuesday and after we'd been to my apartment to drop of his bag we went and bought some thaifood that we brought to Viola Lahger! :3 Thaifood on the floor is the best!

Another birthday has passed and this was the soundtrack :3 It just seemed fitting somehow. Still the day was fairly good I suppose. I managed to keep from hoping for things so I wasn't disappointed and I got some really sweet gifts from certain people.

Birthday thoughts, and other things.

I just realized it is my birthday next week. It feels so odd, it certainly does not feel like a whole year has passed. Or maybe it does, I don't know. The last year has been slow in some ways and really fast in others. I do not think I will celebrate my birthday this year. I was briefly entertaining the idea of having another teaparty but... it is rather too late to start planning one now and... I just do not feel like it.

On the upside though, I have submitted the form to get a table at Uppcon's Artist's Alley so I will most likely be selling my hats there in June. Also I will spend this week working on several orders I have at the moment. So that is good. Not to mention I have a dear friend who has offered to help me with a website and some other things. I'm leaning more and more towards really putting all my energy into the hatmaking. Perhaps it will work, perhaps not... it's worth a shot at any rate.

Uppcon 11 - Artist's Alley

Since I have already bought and paid for my ticket to this year's Uppcon (A Swedish Anime Convention) I have started to think... The main reason I'm going at all is to see a concert, which is just one day, but I still have a ticket that covers the whole weekend. So, the question is; What will I do the other two days? I started poking around on Uppcon's website to see what other activities were avaliable...

There was, of course, the Lolita Fashionshow, something I think I want to be a part of this year, but there was no real information about it. So that will have to wait. However, I did find information about something called the Artist's Alley. It is a place, a sort of marketplace/exhibition for all kinds of people who wish to show their work, be it art or something else like hats, for instance. It is also a place for those people to sell the things they have done. So, I think you can see where I am going with this :P I am, quite obviously, thinking of booking a table in this Artist's Alley and use it to exhibit and sell my hats.

Do you guys think it would be a good idea? Would you like to see my hats avaliable for sale at Conventions like Uppcon? On this particular occasion it only costs 200SEK to book the table so I could easily afford it. The only question is.... Would anyone buy from me?

I would really appreciate some feedback and opinions on this! It will greatly help when making the decision!

My new dream dress... It is so lovely I want to claw my eyes out to keep from staring at it for too long since I know I can in no way afford it. By the time I do manage to scrape together the money it will most likely be Sold Out too. *sigh*

If someone is feeling really generous this is something that would make me a VERY happy girl~

But besides that....

I gave my blog a bit of a makeover, as you might have noticed. The new theme is Paris and Love, two things I have been missing like crazy lately. Still, it was a very nice backround from Shabbyblogs and I thought it would be appropriate for the upcoming month of February and Valentines Day. Or I just wanted something with the Eiffel Tower on it... I'm not sure. I like it either way and I hope that you will too.

I also redesigned my hatblog, and updated it with a new hat. Even more updates will come soon so please take a look :) I am finally in the zone for Hat-making again and I have Five orders to complete, which is more than I have ever had before!

I have been rather swallowed up by gaming recently and have not posted much, well, not a lot that made sense anyway. I recently bought new playtime for my World of Warcraft accound and have been quite busy taking care of my guild and roleplaying. It is a lot of fun, actually, and it keeps my mind from... less pleasant matters.

I have gotten several new orders on hats lately so soon enough there will be pictures here of them! I am really looking forward to making them! :3 Also I have some things that I have finished but just haven't had the chance to take photos of yet. I will have to do that! *nods*

My birthday is coming up as well. I was thinking of having another teaparty but... I don't know. We'll see if I have the energy to get out of bed, let alone throw a whole celebration. Maybe I'll just sit at home with my Guild, eat cake and drink tea. However, one good thing about my birthday is that my parents have promised me that I will get to order clothes from Innocent World's Winter Sale! So I will get new pretty things. :D

One last thing...

I told you I would not contact you and I won't. Not directly. I told you to come find me when you had made up your mind and... the fact that you have not leads me to believe you don't want what I want. That is it, then... I guess. You still are my Supernova, but... I'll just have to learn to live with it.

I can't function anymore it seems. I need to do a bit of cleaning, of my mind and my heart, but I think I'll start with my closet.

I love this dress, but I can't seem to bring myself to wear it anymore. So, I want to see if anyone would like to buy it off me. Right now it's just lying around in a box at the top of my wardrobe and it is such a beautiful dress that it deserves more than that.

I bought it brand new at Tokyo Stop in Stockholm and I have only used it a couple of times. It cost me about 3000SEK and I am not sure what to sell it for but I am open to bids. So if anyone is interested just give me a shout, yeah? Preferably as soon as possible.

More pictures and measurements can be arranged.

It pains me to part with it but I'm not going to keep it in my wardrobe if I'm never going to use it again.

Geekyness Galore

If any of you hadn't already noticed... I'm a geek. Yes sir, I am one of those people who can sit in front of my computer, or game console, for hours on end to try to plow through the latest game I have acquired. And I love it! Especially Roleplaying Games. Those are my absolute favorites.

Almost all my life I have been around computers and games. My father and my brother have always been good at that sort of thing and I grew up with at least two computers always at hand. I used to play simple Children's games like uhm... Well, they were all Swedish so I'm not sure any of you will ever have heard of them. Anyway, I played Bygg Bilar med Mulle Meck, and later on also Bygg Flygplan, and the game version of Mysteriet på Greveholm. Those were my favorites, I think. So yeah, I played them a lot. And when I was not playing on my own, I used to sit and watch my brother play various games on his computer. One game in particular I remember watching him play was Diablo II. I did not understand much of it, of course, but he would do his best to explain everything to me. Back then, he always did that. I also remember sitting in the livingroom watching as he and his friends played Dungeons and Dragons. I was fascinated with the dice, in particular, they had such funny shapes, but I really liked to listen as their plots unfolded as well. I even used to sit there and come up with more ideas. Granted, I had no real grasp on anything they were doing but it was fun and my brother allowed me to stay.

He kept introducing me to more and more games. To be quite honest, he's entirely to blame for my love of RPGs.

IThe big break came when I was about... 12, I think. My whole family was visiting relatives in the mountains close to the Norwegian border. The main focus on the trip was skiing (because it's fun!), but in the evening we sat in my cousin's house and really had nothing to do. That is when my brother asked my father to bring out his laptop and they spent quite a while installing some game. I wasn't really interested at that point, mostly because it was taking so much time! There were no DvDs back then so any really good game had at least 4 discs that had to be installed. And, of course, there were plenty of things going wrong so it took even longer. However, after several hours, my brother called me back into the kitchen. He said he had a game he thought I would like.

That was the first time I played Neverwinter Nights.

That game kept me busy for so long! A lot of time was spent asking my brother to help and guide me through things, of course, but after a while I started to do pretty well on my own. I guess it runs in the family or something. My English improved drastically as I played and I read every single dialog word for word. If you haven't played NwN, there is a LOT of dialog in it. Plenty of reading for a 12 or 13 year old girl. But I didn't mind. I absolutely loved to see the whole story unfold and I was, in lack of a better word, addicted. I played and played and played, for about a year or so, I think, and then one day I had finished the whole thing. I had finished Neverwinter Nights, the original, as well as the two expansion packs Shadows of the Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark. That is no mean feat at thirteen.

After that I was hooked.

Now, I am 20 years old, will turn 21 in February, and I have played through pretty much every single Roleplaying game I could get my hands on. Neverwinter Night is still my absolute favorite for one simple reason: the storyline was better than anything I have ever seen in another game. It was just so long and so detailed and... I can't even describe it. But it felt as if I really knew each and every one of the characters. The graphics are not as good as modern day games, but the story more than makes up for it. It was just a completely wonderful experience.

There are, of course, more modern games that I really like as well...

Knights of the Old Republic really played on both my love of RP and my love of Star Wars. It was an epic combination. Although it wasn't quite as long and detailed as NwN it was still a really captivating game. The new influence system was to die for and the characters were just so... alive. I could really relate to a lot of them and I even grieved when they died.

After KotoR, both I and II, I was introduced to Mass Effect by a friend of mine. I had told her of Knights of the Old Republic and she retaliated with ME. It was fair of her, I suppose. It took me a while to really grasp the concept of it, mostly because I was too busy struggling with the controls of her Xbox, and eventually I gave up. Console games just... really aren't my thing, not really. I only play them if they are on available for the PC. However, several months after my first introduction to ME... it was in the middle of summer and I was bored. I needed some new game to keep my mind occupied so I went into town and finally bought the game for my computer. Once it was installed and ready... Really, I had no chance at all. The story, the graphics, the voice actors, the soundtrack... All of it. It was too good. Needless to say, I sat there for two days straight until finally I had finished it all. I only left the computer to eat and sleep. Barely even that.

Mass Effect II was also finished within a couple of days of purchase and it was pretty much the same thing when Dragon Age: Origins had showed up. I got it, I loved it, and I wouldn't leave it until I had finished it. For some reason, it was a little trickier than ME but I still played through it in no time at all.

You may have noticed that all of the games are from Bioware. Or, actually, you probably haven't noticed. ^^; Not all people are as geeky as I am. Still, Bioware really do make the best games I have ever played. They all were, ARE the creme de la creme of modern Roleplaying games and I love them all dearly. I can play most of them over and over and over again until I have exhausted every single possible outcome and still want more. I suppose that is where they are all lacking. That is why they are still below Neverwinter Nights on my list of Best Roleplaying Games Ever. They are simply too short. The stories are good, but still not quite as long and detailed as those of the slightly older RPgames. I have played through them so many times now, but when I finally get to the end I still get that feeling of "That's it?". I want more. I think most people want more, but lately the companies making the games are too focused on the graphics part of the games that they seem to forget about the story. It really is a shame.

While nice graphics can do wonders for a game, it is still the story that matters the most. It's the story that keeps us hooked, keeps us playing for hours on end. Without it, we would surely grow bored and not finish the game at all. Still... I suppose these short games are good for something. They always leave the players wanting more. So, as long as Bioware, and all the other game-making companies, keep producing more games we will keep wanting to play them. Mass Effect I, for example, was so incredibly good that I could barely wait until they released the second game. And now I am impatiently waiting for the third and final part of the trilogy. So yes, I do believe these short games work in the companies' favor. However, if Mass Effect III will be as short and... lacking, as the previous two games I have to admit that I will surely be disappointed. The whole ME universe, with all its planets and races and characters, deserves a lot more than this. Well, at least that's my opinion. I don't know about you.

Right now, despite my own doubts about the length and depth of modern games, I find myself really looking forward to the sequel to Dragon Age: Origins. A couple of months ago I got my Newsletter from Bioware and it contained the trailer for DA II. I was completely blown away by that trailer alone and I knew then that I just HAD to have it. I mean, these modern games are still really good, despite being so short, and I really want to play them all. So yeah, right after Christmas I asked my father if he would help me preorder the game and he agreed. So in March next year I will, hopefully, be the proud owner of the Bioware Signature Edition of Dragon Age II. *happy squeal* I can't wait!

And uh, yeah... That was the whole point of my ramblings. I just wanted to tell you all that I had pre-ordered the game! Kudos to any of you who managed to read through all of that! *hands out cookies and cupcakes*
